The Street Cats Club has announced an adoption special for the month of November in an effort to help more cats in the community.
The special has adult cats ages eight months and above adoptable for $25 and kittens for $50.
“Rescuing a cat is giving them a second chance at a life being loved,” said SCC Founder and Co-Director Victoria Partridge. “This November, we are hoping to help our adoptable cats find loving homes by offering reduced-cost adoption fees.”
Rescue Director Will Boyer said there are currenty 37 cats in the organization’s foster program. Twenty-one of those cats are adoptable.
“The issue is not that we’re at capacity for fosters, though we are,” Boyer explained. “The issue is that cats aren’t moving out of our program. We could get a dozen new foster homes and have cats to fill them because cats always need our help, but then we’re just back at where we are. Right now, the best way to help us is to get cats adopted or transferred to other rescues.”
Last month the Street Cats Club celebrated three adoptions and six intakes. They spayed or neutered 51 cats in the community. To date, 179 cats have moved through the foster program this year and 555 cats have been spayed or neutered.
